🎈In case you've missed it (don't worry, we're just teasing 🤣), World Password Day took place this week! Established in 2013, this important event is commemorated on the first Thursday in May each year.

Passwords remain a critical vulnerability exploited by cyber attackers. Weak passwords, password reuse, and passwords exposed in public data breaches make them a significant weak link in the cybersecurity chain. World Password Day serves as a timely reminder to create and use strong passwords.

Here's what a strong password should consist of:

📏 Length: Aim for a minimum of 12 characters. The longer, the better for making it difficult for hackers to crack.

🧮 Complexity: Combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters for a more secure password.

🔮 Unpredictability: Steer clear of easily guessable information, like your name, birthdate, pet names, or common words.

🌟 Unique Passwords: Refrain from reusing passwords across multiple accounts, preventing a breach in one account from compromising others.

💡 Will passwords become obsolete? Tech giants like Apple, Google, and Microsoft have begun implementing passkeys as a means of replacing passwords with more secure mobile device biometrics, such as facial recognition and fingerprint scanning. While passwords won't disappear entirely in the near future, passkeys can help reduce the hassle of creating, storing, and managing multiple strong passwords. Starting this week, you can create passkeys for your Google accounts using this link.
